Trommel Screening Maintenance

Trommel screen is a kind of equipment commonly used in beneficiation. Through the continuous rotation of the screen body, large pieces of waste rock can be thrown out, greatly improving the next separation operation. When rotary screen works, the motor connects the reducer with the roller device through the coupling, and drives the roller device to rotate around its axis. The materials are turned over and rolled, and the materials are screened out one by one through different meshes. The materials stuck in the mesh can also be ejected to prevent blocking.


Working principle

The rotary drum screen mainly consists of motor, reducer, roller device, frame, screen and inlet and outlet. Tilt the roller unit onto the frame. The motor is connected with the roller device through the coupling through the reducer, and the roller device is driven to rotate around its axis. When the material enters the drum device, due to the inclination and rotation of the drum device, the material on the screen surface will turn over and roll, so that the qualified material (products under screen) will be discharged through the discharge port at the bottom of the rear end of the drum, and the unqualified material (products on screen) will be discharged through the discharge port at the tail of the drum. Due to the overturning and rolling of the material in the drum, the material stuck in the screen hole can be ejected to prevent the screen hole from blocking. The principle and structure of the roller screen are almost the same as that of the roller screen, which is due to the difference in people’s understanding and nomenclature.


Operation and maintenance

The operation of dump screen is reliable and the maintenance is small. During its operation, the following problems should be paid attention to:

1.The roller screen must be turned on before the feeding equipment is turned on during start-up;

2.Three days before operation, the fasteners of the roller screen shall be inspected every day, and they shall be fastened in time in case of looseness. In the future, regular (weekly or half a month) inspection and treatment of the roller screen fasteners can be carried out;

3.Check the lubrication condition of bearing pedestal and gearbox regularly, and fill and change oil in time. No. 2 lithium base grease is used for large shaft bearing. Normally, grease should be added every two months, and the filling amount should not be too much, otherwise it is easy to cause bearing overheating. Each bearing shall be cleaned and inspected once a year.

4.When the equipment is stopped for a long time (more than 30 days) and restarted, the insulation of the motor shall be telemetered to avoid the motor burning.
